New Yarn!

Friday, April 11th, 2008 by Tina Silva

I bought some new yarn the other day at Wal-Mart. These rolls were about $7 each. They are going to take forever to roll into balls…I can so see that now. Once that’s completed, I’ll be happy to start on some new projects.

In fact, I’m going to try and baby a little sweater for my nephew out of the yarn that is brown, blue, and green. The other two, well…I’ll probably attempt to make those pop cozies out of them. Other than that, I’m not sure as of yet. Anyways, check out the photo below.

Great Crocheting & Crafting Books

Tuesday, April 8th, 2008 by Tina Silva

Not Your Mama's CrochetAbout a month ago I was browsing Amazon and came across this wonderful book entitled “Not Your Mama’s Crochet“. It is absolutely amazing. I guess you can say it’s a new and hip guide to crocheting. It even has wonderful patterns and great tips too.

This book is fulled with coloured pictures, diagrams, instructions, and a whole bunch of other neat things. It’s by far one of the best books I have picked up on crocheting. There’s just this awesome “girly” feeling to the book that makes you want to keep reading and trying out everything.

They go in depth and show you the importance of different hooks, stitches, and even yarn. This book is great for both beginners and those who already know how to crochet. It’s a great way to polish your crocheting skills.

There’s even an entire line of other crafting books with the same title reference (ie: “Not Your Mama’s… ). Just check out some of the books below.

Bright Ideas On The Web

Saturday, April 5th, 2008 by Tina Silva

Some of the bloggers I frequent have the best ideas ever!! Just look at Charlotte for instance. She made these wonderful pop can cozies which keep your hands from getting wet in the summer or cold in the winter. How creative is that??

It’s the first that I have seen something like that so I am really excited about it since I want to try and make my own too. I wonder how well it will turn out. Who knows…I might even extend it and make some water bottle cozies since my water bottles always get all sweaty and wet when they are fresh out of the fridge.

Hopefully I can start on this project right away. Since I’m off from work tomorrow, I’ll probably make my first attempt at creating it. Thanks for the great idea Charlotte!!
